CIMA Director's Forum - Delivering Retail Profitability
Date: Wednesday 21st April 2021
Time: 6.30pm – 7.30pm
Retail has always been a hard place to do well, coping with often low margins, fickle customers and unpredictable outside influences. The UK relies so heavily on retail trade, it’s important to get this right for our economy’s survival.
Retailers with products or business models hard hit by the pandemic need to act now; shaking up their thinking, re-evaluating their business strategy and cost structure, and finding new ways to compete in the new retail landscape currently emerging. For others that identified and then seized opportunities, their early successes will need to be consolidated, built on and augmented – turning improvised emergency solutions into sustainable strategies.
Louisa will review the retail landscape, what’s driving the changes, and explore the challenges retailers are currently facing. She will discuss the role of the supply chain and logistics in retail, how the function can support and sustain retail change, growth and underpin profitability – now and looking further ahead.
